This blog traces the history of the Kings and Queens of England (and gradually the various other bits of what is now the United Kingdom). Although British, I know very little about the country's 'rulers' as I regard the monarchy as a rather silly waste of money (a view reinforced by this research). Nevertheless, I needed some information on their sequence to collate a collection of farthings and so, encouraged by an equally uninformed family, decided to put the lot on this web page.
I am working on the subjects in reverse chronological order and it is fair to say, having reached the middle 1600's, that the further back we go, the more convoluted the stories (in terms of ancestry, progeny and succession) become, but that does not make the current crew any more acceptable.
